Injury Prevention

Fit For Work’s injury prevention services aim to reduce workplace injuries by identifying risks and educating employees to stay safe and healthy. Our experts use informational sessions to  create better individual health awareness and teach employees better behaviors.
All the while data can help avoid costly injuries. Companies that measure physical job demands or conduct pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings take the first step toward creating a culture of health in the workplace.

Pre-Employment/Post-Offer Screens

Physical and occupational therapists evaluate a prospective employee’s physical ability to meet the essential functions required for the  position. Tests are specific to the physical demands of the employee’s job.

Functional Job Analysis/Physical Demands Validation

Validations completed on-site by a physical or occupational therapist to measure the actual physical demands needed for a specific job to develop post offer screens and use in job descriptions.

Drug Screens

DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol screens for pre-employment screening, accidents, random procedures or reasonable cause are offered at multiple service locations.

DOT Physicals

DOT physicals are required by the Department of Transportation to be performed by a FMCSA certified medical provider. The providers are registered on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

Our pre-assessment physical examination will include height, weight, pulse, blood pressure and a urinalysis to evaluate protein, blood and sugar.

The examiner will also perform a physical evaluation to assess general physical appearance to determine fit for operating a commercial vehicle.  They will also evaluate general health including the skin, lungs and neurological system. Screens will be performed to test vison and hearing as well as a drug screen.

If you use a CPAP, please bring your report and if you are diabetic your latest AIC.

  • Over the past couple years, we have seen a steady decline in our recordable injury rate. Madonna has helped us immensely with their services, from the pre-employment screens, ensuring we hire qualified individuals, to the urgent care clinics, who see our injured employees immediately. The health care providers work with us and our employees to get our injured employees back to work, in most cases on the same day. The collaboration between Madonna, the healthcare providers, the injured employee and Sampson Construction is what is driving our injury rates down.
